On June 22, 1919, William L. White received his degree from Auburn University. A national service group for young business and professional men was what he had always envisioned. White was a young engineer and pragmatic idealist who had the drive and ambition, but he lacked the resources to carry out such a significant project.

Now what? Unexpectedly, turpentine had a significant impact on this narrative. The turpentine industry was then based in Valdosta, Georgia. Long-leaf pines were harvested for their crude resin using turpentine cups in the flourishing industry. Turpentine and rosin were made by distilling the resin.

White didn’t waste any time selling turpentine cups after receiving his diploma. After generating $2,000,000 from the sale of turpentine cups, he invested $1,000 in an ongoing growth fund. White established the first American Business Club in Birmingham, Alabama, on May 18, 1922, with the help of enough cash.

Oldest To Newest AMBUCS Logos In History

This initial club, which had 50 members, adopted bylaws and the following slogan, which is still in use today: Shoulders Aligned

Members started abbreviating American Business Clubs as AMBUCS over time. The organization granted official permission for the use of the name AMBUCS in 1961.

Apply also; THE JOSH RICHARDS SPORTS SCHOLARSHIP

Before the deadline, students must turn in all required application materials. Students will be able to store their work and come back to it later using the online application.

The student must upload the following in addition to filling out the usual information:

Their SAR for the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) (Student Aid Report)

Evidence of enrollment in an approved program, as described above; and

Personal Statement Of One Page

FAFSA: Please be advised that the FAFSA cannot be completed until the taxpayer who is financially supporting the student has submitted their taxes. Please prepare ahead of time so you can meet the deadline because it may take several weeks for the SAR to be delivered.

Even if you do not wish to apply for federal help, you must complete the FAFSA and send us your SAR in order to be considered for this prize. Any government aid that is offered to you is yours to accept or reject.

Every candidate must first overcome their financial necessity after meeting the eligibility standards (including those that are chapter sponsored). There is a section on the application where you can describe fresh financial information that isn’t represented in your SAR (additional loans, etc.).

Please submit proof of enrolment in the form of a letter from the registrar’s office (you might also find this on your student portal somewhere). The registrar’s office might not be willing to provide you with documentation of enrolment at this early stage if this is your first year. If so, kindly send an email to [email protected].

Writing a strong personal statement

It must be one page long, double-spaced, and use a minimum of 10-point type. Beyond that, though, it ought to be…personal. You don’t have to remind us that college is expensive, time-consuming, and all the other things that apply to every application. We’d want to know what kind of therapist you want to be and why, along with any volunteer work you’ve done (especially serving people with challenges to mobility or independence – through AMBUCS or other organizations). We will be looking for all three of those elements in your statement… and, yes, we actually read them!
