According to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), a total of 1.53 million students took the WASSCE in 2020, a decrease of 3.25 percent from the 1.58 million who did so in 2019.
Among them, private and public schools saw 707,478 and 830,756 candidates, respectively, which is fewer than the 710,552 and 879,431 seen in 2019. 1.56 million applicants in all took the exam in 2021, an increase of 1.42% from 1.53 million in 2020.

7. Rivers: 88.1%
8. Delta: 87.7%
