Dehn, Greg
Ceo And Founder
My family’s financial situation was precarious after my father was given an ALS diagnosis, making it impossible for us to pay for college. I was a first-generation, motivated student who discovered that I had little financial or social support to continue my education beyond high school. So I filled out a lot of scholarship applications. The Howard Hughes Undergraduate Research Fellowship and National Science Foundation Grants were among the numerous grants I finally received. With the help of these prizes, I was able to attend Colorado College and earn my degree there in 1998 with less than $10,000 in student loans. Later, with the help of my employers, I obtained my MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
My tale ought to be well-known. It is, regrettably, not exceptional. Many families and children find themselves in similar situations for no fault of their own. I started working full-time on a firm in 2017 to pay it forward in honor of the kind support that folks who helped me gave me. Our Minneapolis-based firm, Kaleidoscope, provides a platform for students to look for and apply for private scholarships and awards provided by businesses and other organizations.
Our Purpose
Joining Finance With Successful Futures
Both organizations that offer award programs and students looking for award programs struggle to discover suitable candidates. They are combined by the Kaleidoscope platform to broaden the range of options for students and boost the effectiveness of donations for the common good.
