The Knight-Hennessy Scholarship program at Stanford University fosters a diverse, multidisciplinary community of up-and-coming leaders from all over the world and mentors them as they get ready to tackle the complex problems facing society. Through the King Global Leadership Program, students will increase their knowledge, sharpen their skills, and fortify their moral character through participation in community service projects, workshops, meetings with influential people, domestic and international study trips, and other opportunities for personal growth.
The Knight-Hennessy Scholars are spread across Stanford’s 7 schools. Talented individuals who are a part of a multidisciplinary community of scholars are known as Knight-Hennessy Scholars. Eligibility
There are two fundamental criteria for eligibility.
First, you must apply to, be accepted by, and enroll in a full-time Stanford graduate degree program, such as but not limited to, a DMA, JD, MA, MBA, MD, MFA, MPP, MS, or PhD program in addition to applying to Knight-Hennessy Scholars (KHS). At least one of the following four requirements must be met by you:
You are applying separately but simultaneously to KHS and a full-time graduate program at Stanford so that you can begin both in the same academic year.
You will apply to KHS so that you can start both in the same year even if you have already been admitted to a full-time Stanford graduate degree program and have chosen to defer your start date.
You are a current graduate student at Stanford who will submit an application to add a second full-time graduate degree program so that you can begin KHS and the new program in the same academic year.
You are currently enrolled in your first year of the PhD program at Stanford, and you plan to apply to KHS so that you can begin KHS in your second year of PhD enrollment.
Second, you must have graduated with a U.S. bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited college or university in January 2016 or later. You must have received your bachelor’s degree by January 2016 or later to apply to join the cohort in 2023, and you must have received your bachelor’s degree by January 2017 or later to apply to join the cohort in 2024.
Application Guidelines
You must simultaneously and separately apply to both your Stanford graduate degree program and the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program in order to be considered for the scholarship. The Knight Hennesy Program has a 12-October-2022, 1:00 PM Pacific Time, deadline. Each graduate degree program at Stanford has a different application date. The website for your selected program should be checked to ensure the application deadline, which is typically sooner.
