Shelter at the critical moment Is a powerful theater performance. A cherished animal companion, a superb instructor, or assistance with an elderly family member, we are impacted by individuals, groups, and events throughout life that fuel our love for something bigger than ourselves.
The Licking County Foundation supports individuals in putting their enthusiasm into action. We are a group of philanthropists and significant causes united by the goal of raising the standard of living for all Licking County residents.
Their backgrounds, generations, and areas of interest are as diverse as the individuals they hope to help. They come from all walks of life. But there is one element that all of our donors share: a strong desire to better their community and the courage to put their compassion into practice.

OUR OBJECTIVE
The Foundation’s goals are to enhance lives, foster community connections, foster giving, fulfill dreams, inspire hope, and develop trust.
WHAT WE STAND FOR
Kindness, respect, compassion, inclusiveness, diversity, openness, accessibility, privacy, stewardship, teamwork, bravery, humility, truthfulness, fairness, optimism, and creativity are among the principles upheld by the Foundation.
OUR BEHAVIOR
The Foundation aspires to take action in four ways: proactively, strategically, quickly, and together.
Five civic leaders from the area came up with the notion to “continually improve living in Licking County” on November 21, 1956. Harold L. Ballinger, Robert H. Flory, Francis P. Kennedy, Howard E. LeFevre (vice-chairman), Games Slayter (chairman), and J. Gilbert Reese—who was chosen to serve as secretary and treasurer—were all brought together by Everett D. Reese. Gilbert Reese was tasked with creating “…a pamphlet to be provided to the public detailing the uses and objectives of the foundation” after the declaration of trust was discussed and written. Following the initial gathering at Park National Bank, years of philanthropic support for transforming lives were launched.
