MERCER UNIVERSITY
Private research university Mercer University has its main campus in Macon, Georgia. It is the oldest private university in the state and enrolls more than 9,000 students in its 12 colleges and schools, which include liberal arts and sciences, business, engineering, education, music, the college of professional advancement, law, theology, medicine, pharmacy, nursing, and health professions. Mercer Institute was founded in 1833 and was granted university status in 1837. The oldest collegiate honors society in the country, Phi Beta Kappa, has a chapter at Mercer and is a member of the Georgia Research Alliance.
The historic (main) campus of Mercer is located in Macon. A graduate and professional campus is located in Atlanta. The School of Medicine includes four-year campuses in Savannah and Columbus. Additionally, Mercer has regional academic hubs in Henry and Douglas counties, a law school on its own campus in Macon, teaching hospitals in Savannah, and Columbus, a university press, and the Grand Opera House, a performing arts venue, all in Macon, as well as the Mercer Engineering Research Center in Warner Robins. The medical, pharmacy, nursing, and health professions programs offered by Mercer University in Macon, Atlanta, Savannah, and Columbus are housed in the Mercer University Health Sciences Center. Only the most talented first-year applicants will receive this invitation from Mercer University. You will explore Mercer’s historic Macon campus, interview faculty, staff, and alumni, and participate in academic activities during this scholarship event that is by invitation only.

The most talented first-year applicants receive offers to attend Mercer University. An email invitation and a printed invitation in the mail with registration instructions will be sent to eligible students.

WHAT DO I NEED TO WEAR?
Business clothing is advised for this event because you will be interviewing professionals and current teachers.
WHAT MAKES THE TWO EVENT POSSIBILITIES DIFFERENT FROM ONE ANOTHER?
To better accommodate the varying obligations and schedules of all of our students, we are providing two options. Each location will have identical interviews, classroom encounters, and opportunities for meeting administration and professors. The interview date and the schedule’s organization are the only things that differ.
HOW DO I GET READY?
We recommend that you be yourself in addition to obtaining a good night’s sleep and eating a nutritious breakfast. Prepare to talk about your interests, successes, and aspirations for the future.
DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING?
Consider bringing any personal belongings you often take with you throughout the day. You will be given resources that you can use to take notes.

CAN I INVITE VISITORS?
One visitor, such as a parent or legal guardian, is permitted per student.
WHEN WILL I LEARN THE TIMING OF MY INTERVIEW?
When you check in for the event, we will include information about your interview time in your registration packet.
CAN I SPECIFY A TIME FOR THE INTERVIEW?

WHEN WILL I LEARN THE OUTCOME OF MY SCHOLARSHIP?
Results from the weekend should be available 3–4 weeks following the event. A letter will be mailed to you as official notice.
WHAT VARIETIES OF SCHOLARSHIPS ARE GIVEN OUT?
Students can raise their merit scholarship awards, which can go up to the full cost of tuition. There are a few full-tuition scholarships available.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Check your email in the days before the event for specific parking information since parking will vary depending on the event. Additionally, our student employees will point you in the direction of your parking location once you arrive on campus.

You are more than a number at Mercer, so we consider more factors when evaluating applicants than just GPA and test results. We consider a range of elements, such as high school course selection, extracurricular and community activity, leadership experience, letters of recommendation, essay submissions, and more, to guarantee that applicants will succeed in the demanding academic environment at Mercer.
First-year students may elect to have their applications reviewed for admission without providing SAT or ACT test results through Mercer’s Test Optional admission policy if their unweighted GPA is higher than 3.25.
