Eric and Evan Nord, brothers, started Nordson Corporation in Amherst, Ohio, in 1954. The U.S. Automatic Company, which was founded in 1909, is where company origins can be found.
The U.S. Automatic Company initially focused on screw machine components for the nascent automotive sector. The company changed its production emphasis to high-precision parts in 1935, under the leadership of Eric and Evan Nord’s father Walter G. Nord, in order to support the United States defense effort during World War II.
We design, develop, produce, and sell unique solutions used for fluid management, UV curing, plasma surface treatment, dispensing adhesives, coatings, sealants, biomaterials, and other materials. We provide direct global sales and service, application expertise, and product support for our products. Numerous consumer non-durable, durable, and technological end markets are served by the Nordson corporation, including packaging, nonwovens, electronics, medical, appliances, energy, transportation, construction, and general product assembly and finishing. We were established in 1954 and have offices worldwide, with our main office being in Westlake, Ohio, in the United States.

Nordson BUILDS’s Scholarship goal is to find and nurture a diversified, highly-skilled talent pool for jobs in the manufacturing sector. By lowering the financial barriers to college attendance for many students and relieving the burden of student loan debt for those who apply for financial aid, it is intended to assist bright and motivated students in accessing and completing higher education.
