The Doyle Foundation Scholarship Program

About the Foundation

Frank Doyle had a strong handshake, a steady gaze, a warm smile, and compelling enthusiasm, and was a dynamic achiever.

He studied at Fordham and Rutgers Universities, and together with his wife Gertrude R. Doyle, he combined education with a commitment to the idea that it’s smart to answer the door when opportunity knocks.

Frank found problems and embraced them with zeal and intensity that never declared, “It can’t be done,” from New Jersey to Nevada, Florida to California. The seventh child of immigrants, he led a fulfilling life.

Gertrude R. Doyle established The Frank M. Doyle Foundation, Inc. upon the death of Frank M. Doyle in 1996.

At first, the organization offered bursaries to students in the vicinity of Huntington Beach, California.

The Frank M. Doyle Foundation gives your community an exceptional and unrivaled opportunity, according to Gertrude R. Doyle.

There is no upper-income limit or minimum grade point average. Age does not matter.

There are merit-based and need-based scholarships available. Our recipients enroll in trade schools, community colleges, state universities, the University of California and University of Nevada systems, as well as public and private institutions located outside of California and Nevada.

Along with studying to become doctors and attorneys, they also study to be beauticians and graphic artists.

The goal of the foundation is to make it possible for students to continue their education in order to support the survival of a thriving, productive, and resourceful community.

Over time, the foundation increased the number of students who may apply for scholarships by adding Washoe County, Nevada students and students from Orange County, California Community Colleges.

In an effort to realize Mr. and Mrs. Doyle’s vision of a better society for all, the foundation also expanded beyond the realm of academia and started awarding grants to charitable institutions.

After Gertrude R. Doyle passed away in late 2008, the foundation took on the name The Frank M. and Gertrude R. Doyle Foundation, Inc., which it changed to “The Doyle Foundation, Inc.” in 2018.
