Millions of people still live in poverty despite the fact that we are living in the richest period in history.

In the United States, suicide is the tenth largest cause of death overall and the second most frequent cause of death among people under the age of 30. Depression and suicidal thoughts can result from bullying, mistreatment, and other painful experiences in the past.

My mother Ethel Hayes committed suicide about 50 years ago. She was a charming and courageous woman who had to deal with the terrible truths that existed in both her inner and outside lives.

After she went away, I found it difficult to come to terms with her loss. I had to accept the fact that the Black community did not openly address or comprehend mental health issues in addition to the loss of my mother. I made the decision to repress my feelings, which later in life caused me a lot of problems.

To help the millions of people and those close to them who are in need, we must start by revealing the truth. It will consequently gradually vanish.
