The Oxford's "Clarendon" Scholarship Program -

Clarendon provides outstanding graduate students with over 200 brand-new, fully-funded scholarships each year in addition to the chance to be a part of one of Oxford’s most vibrant, culturally diverse, and interdisciplinary communities.

The University, its faculties, divisions, and colleges make up the autonomous, self-governing organization known as Oxford.

The schools and residences

The University’s 36 schools and three societies make up its core, and they are connected to it through a federal system.

Each college is independent and self-governing, and each one has a charter that has been authorized by the Privy Council. As a result, each college is run by a Head of the House who is chosen and elected by the governing body itself. The majority of the Fellows on the governing body are also employed by universities.

The three societies—Kellogg College, Reuben College, and St. Cross College—operate very similarly to the other colleges, but they are regarded as departments of the university rather than separate colleges because, unlike the others, they lack a royal charter. One of the primary variations is that the president is nominated by the governing body and then chosen by Council.

Additionally, there are six permanent private halls that nevertheless maintain their religious identity today despite having been created by several Christian denominations.

32 of the colleges and permanent private halls admit undergraduates. While Harris Manchester College is the only institution specifically for senior students, mature applicants are accepted by other colleges.

Only postgraduate students are admitted to Campion Hall, Green Templeton, Kellogg, Linacre, Nuffield, Reuben, St Antony’s, St Cross, and Wolfson Colleges. Unlike other Oxford colleges, All Souls does not have any student members; all members, with the exception of the Warden, are Fellows.

The oldest colleges are University, Balliol, and Merton, which date back to the 13th century.

The University’s newest colleges are Green Templeton, which was founded in 2008 through the merging of Green and Templeton Colleges, and Reuben College, which was established by the University in 2019.

The grant is not available for postgraduate Certificate or Diploma programs.

Scholarship Worth, Components, And Length:

All Clarendon Scholarships fully pay college costs, including tuition.

The generous yearly award for living expenses given to scholars enrolled in full-time courses will be at least £15,609 in 2021–22. A study support grant will be given to students enrolled in part-time courses to help with non-fee costs. The scholarships are often provided for the entire time that you are required to pay tuition to the university, which is typically the same amount of time as the duration of your study.

Criteria For Eligibility And Selection

Graduate students from all across the world who demonstrate exceptional academic merit and promise are given Clarendon Scholarships. All candidates who submit an application for a new master’s or DPhil program before the January admissions deadline are eligible for scholarships.

Application Guidelines

You will be automatically considered for a Clarendon Scholarship if you submit your application for a full-time or part-time master’s or DPhil program at Oxford before the deadline in December or January for your program. There is no separate application form for the Clarendon Scholarships, thus you do not need to send any additional materials. To be eligible for the scholarship, you must submit your application by the December or January deadline (6 or 20 January 2023) for your course.
