SCHOLARSHIP SPONSORS
FOUNDATION 649
The Foundation 649 is an organization that seeks out and supports young Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders who are constantly uplifting and serving their communities around the nation.
OUR GOAL
America’s political and social climate is changing quickly. Pacific Islanders and Asian Americans have a significant impact on how America will appear in the future. The mission of Foundation 649 is to strengthen our position and voice in our nation by promoting and developing young AAPI leaders.
OUR TITLE
The Supreme Court ruling “United States v. Wong Kim Ark, 169 US 649” from 1898, which established that all people born in the US were entitled to citizenship without regard to their race or ethnicity, laid the groundwork for the development of AAPIs in America.
OUR GROUP
We are a nationwide team made up entirely of volunteers, with members in Texas, Georgia, New York, California, and Washington. We have a wide range of backgrounds, including journalism, technology, and entertainment. Our shared interest in AAPI concerns and advancing the AAPI identity binds us together.
