The Maisin Foundation Scholarship Program

We provide modern tools and investment options to our donors and fundholders so that they can maximize their philanthropic influence both within and outside the Jewish community. This entails creating a more cohesive structure inside our business as well as placing more of an emphasis on collaborative giving options like impact investment and gift planning.

We understand the value of a college education. An investment in education for students aids in reducing rising student debt and tuition costs. The lifetime earnings associated with an undergraduate degree are close to $1 million. The Federation is in a unique position to persuade potential funders to make a commitment to helping to satisfy the expanding demands of those looking to pursue post-secondary education.

Students looking for financial assistance to attend undergraduate or graduate programs at authorized nonprofit colleges or universities can use the Federation’s College Scholarship program as a resource. Students who complete one application will be eligible for up to 12 different scholarships. Numerous scholarships are renewable, giving students the ongoing assistance they need to be successful in college.

About The Scholarship

The Maisin Foundation Scholarships are designed to provide money to augment student and family contributions as well as other financial aid, scholarships, and awards. They are awarded based on both merit and financial need. Our program gave $295,300 to 97 winners for the 2023–2024 school year.

• There are 12 different scholarships available through the Federation’s College Scholarship Program, each with its unique eligibility standards (see below).

• Based on a combination of need and merit, the majority (but not all) of scholarships are awarded to Jewish students within the Federation’s service region, which includes the counties of San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Alameda, Contra Costa, Solano, Marin, Napa, and Sonoma. Please refer to the precise eligibility requirements listed below as there are some exceptions.

• Applicants may be qualified for and earn awards from multiple scholarship programs.

• Those who apply will immediately be considered for any scholarships for which they qualify. To be considered for several scholarships, applicants only need to submit one application.

• Previous beneficiaries may submit an application for renewal each year, provided they continue to meet the requirements and the fund permits renewals. Renewal is not certain. A student may not apply for a new scholarship while seeking a renewal.

• Scholarships are only available to full-time students taking 12 or more units every quarter or semester.
