To provide a long-term solution to the socioeconomic problems in the Niger Delta Region and to promote the Niger Delta’s quick and sustainable development into a region that is economically successful, socially stable, environmentally sustainable, and politically tranquil.

About The Scholarship

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is launching a foreign postgraduate scholarship program as part of its human resource development initiatives in order to give Niger Delta residents the training and skills they need to effectively participate in the current administration’s local content program and compete internationally in a variety of professional fields. The program is for candidates who meet the requirements and have earned applicable Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees from reputable universities in one of the following professional disciplines:

  1. Agricultural Sciences
  2. Engineering
  3. Environmental Sciences
  4.  Geosciences
  5. Information Technology
  6. Law
  7. Management Sciences
  8. Medicine
  9.  Architecture
  10. Hospitality Management

Policies For Applications

Candidates must have the following qualifications:

1. For those looking to enroll in a master’s program, the first degree with at least a second class (lower division) is required.

2. Candidates must have been accepted into a postgraduate program in one of the aforementioned subjects at a foreign university.

3. Candidates who are currently enrolled in universities abroad are ineligible to apply.

4. Written assurance of the applicant’s good behavior from one of the guarantors’ Community/Clan members listed below.

5. People who have a criminal past or proof of membership in a cult will not be taken into consideration.

6. Applicants must have finished the National Youth Service Corps, which is required (NYSC).

7. Each and every applicant MUST be from the Niger Delta.

1. Applications must be submitted online at www.nddc.gov.ng, together with the accompanying attachments:

• A current passport photo

• Letter of Local Government Identification

• A letter of admission to a renowned overseas university for postgraduate study. degrees from accredited universities that are relevant.

2. A registration number will be immediately provided to an application that has been successfully completed.

3. For easy reference, print a paper copy of the online-generated acknowledgment.

Duration

After the publishing date, all completed applications must be received by October 30th, 2023.

NOTE

The Commission (NDDC) will not engage in any kind of communication with applicants who did not pass the oral interviews, did not advance from the computer-based test (CBT), or were not asked for an oral interview.

Candidates from Oil Producing Host/Communities/Local Government Areas would receive preference, provided that they fulfill the established cutoff point.

The Commission will make sure that beneficiaries in each State are evenly distributed throughout the courses.

Deferment, institution, and course changes are not allowed.

The Commission reserves the sole and total right to make decisions based on the aforementioned criteria and its own internal analysis. The Commission’s decision in this matter is final.
